Kenya Union of Muslim Women
The Kenya Union of Muslim Women (KUMW) is a unifying platform for Muslim women organizations committed to nurturing spiritual, social, and leadership growth. Rooted in the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah, we aim to empower Muslim women to lead with Ikhlaas (sincerity), Ihsaan (Excellence), and Amanah (integrity), while advancing their rights and dignity within the society.
We are driven by a mission to foster unity, amplify women's voices in Islamic spaces, and promote a values-based approach to advocacy, development, and representation. Through structured programs, strategic partnerships, and faith-informed initiatives; we provide platforms for capacity building that leads to a sustainable and transformative Ummah.

Strategic goals driving our mission forward
To foster unity and collaboration among Muslim Women Organisations (MWOs) within and across Kenya.
To advocate for and secure effective representation for Muslim women across all sectors — government, public, and private.
To provide the Union's experience, advice, and general cooperation to the Kenyan government and relevant public/private bodies on matters concerning Muslim women.
To strengthen the capacity of MWOs through training, mentorship, and platforms that support sustainable growth, institutional resilience, and community impact.
To organise and participate in national and international conferences that contribute positively to the membership.
To serve as a trusted channel for sourcing and providing humanitarian aid and empowering communities through sustainable development programs.
To build strategic local and global partnerships that strengthen Muslim women organisations and provide linkages.
