About KUMW
The Kenya Union of Muslim Women (KUMW) is a unifying platform for Muslim women organizations committed to nurturing spiritual, social, and leadership growth. Rooted in the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah, we aim to empower Muslim women to lead with Ikhlaas (sincerity), Ihsaan (Excellence), and Amanah (integrity), while advancing their rights and dignity within the society.
We are driven by a mission to foster unity, amplify women's voices in Islamic spaces, and promote a values-based approach to advocacy, development, and representation. Through structured programs, strategic partnerships, and faith-informed initiatives; we provide platforms for capacity building that leads to a sustainable and transformative Ummah.

This collective acts as a voluntary think-tank and support system, providing guidance and credible technical input to strengthen KUMW's advocacy, representation, and capacity-building work, in line with its values of Ikhlas, Ihsaan, and Amanah.

Enlightened Souls Conference
KUMW's annual gathering for Muslim women, created as a dedicated space to pause, reflect, and renew their spiritual and social responsibility. The conference brings together respected Islamic scholars and subject matter experts to guide conversations on addressing social and moral challenges affecting the Ummah. Since 2022, KUMW has successfully convened three conferences.
Ramadhan Webinar
KUMW's annual Ramadhan Webinar is a virtual preparatory space for both men and women to ready their hearts, minds, and actions for the blessed month. Through well-curated reminders and practical guidance from respected Islamic scholars, the webinar focuses on maximising the spiritual opportunities of Ramadhan. Since 2022, KUMW has conducted four Ramadhan webinars.
Annual Adhaan Competition
KUMW's annual Adhaan Competition for boys aged 14 years and below is a pioneering initiative and currently the only Adhaan competition in Kenya dedicated to nurturing love and reverence for the call to prayer among the younger generation. Since 2023, two competitions have been conducted.
Quarterly Leadership Training
KUMW's upcoming Leadership Training Platform is designed to equip members and other women with sound, practical skills to lead with integrity, purpose, and impact. The programme focuses on integrating Islamic values into everyday personal and professional life.
